DC Statehood Support in the 118th Congress
House
In the House of Representatives, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton introduced the Washington, DC Admission Act (H.R. 51) on January 9, 2023, that would grant DC statehood. On April 22, 2021, the House of Representatives passed the H.R.51 - Washington, DC Admission Act, the DC Statehood bill for the second time in history with a vote of 216-208. The bill will now move to the Senate.
